NAM YOUNGHEE - “LIOBA LA AMADA”



This exhibition is the first retrospective of painter Nam Younghee (b. 1949), gathering the works she created up to her final paintings. It traces nearly half a century of her practice since graduating from Hongik University’s College of Fine Arts. The title, “Lioba,” is her baptismal name — meaning “the beloved” — received at Myeongdong Cathedral in 1966, marking the sixtieth anniversary of that baptism as her first retrospective opens at that same cathedral this year.
